The Poetry Hour Updated

Director's cut of Sydenham Community Radio's Election Night Poetry Hour excerpt with Clare Coyne and co-presenter Gale Burns, with Cryptwriters Ewa Sidorenko, Stephen Rayton and David Canning. The evening's theme was Humour.

THE ELECTION NIGHT BROADCAST of 6/5/2010 is no longer available on Cryptwriters.info website. But here for an unlimited season is the video extract starting with Ewa's untitled medieval monk poem. I have completed the extract using the still photos and the audio. The humour from Stephen and Gale is also complete.

I regret missing my reading of "She Said" from the video due to my lack of awareness of the camera's limitations but perhaps it is a greater loss that Charmian, Nisa and Annie who were the real pioneers of the evening missed the opportunity for videographic immortalisation. This time I have used Vimeo to store the video, which means you can choose to watch it here on the page without being shunted off elsewhere. It is an HD video, but for limited computers or low bandwidth I have set it to standard quality; by clicking on the HD button you can get to HD on the vimeo site. Beside the HD button is the 'expand to full screen' button which enables almost total immersion in the event.

Hi David

I have no ojection to you putting this up on the website. I watched it tonight with Christina (my wife). She says you look very intelligent (and she's just told me to add that she likes your hair, it's a beautiful color and she's very envious of it).

Thank you Christina. Intelligent? Not so sure. Appearances can be deceptive! The hair - yes, its the product of around forty years use of Grecian 2012. A special product which promises by 2012 to restore your hair to its former natural colour. Just a year to go and I live in hope.
